Fine jewlery inspired by stillness and motion.
Whirligig is a fine jewelry collection that explores the dialogue between stillness and motion. Inspired by the rotational harmony of a pinwheel, each piece is to represent movement with intention. The Pinwheel itself becomes a study in self-containment. Motion imposed upon itself, turning not from force but from its own design.
How can an object both lie still yet remain in flux? A reflection on freedom, balance, and the elegance of perpetual change.
Form Exploration
These sketches were inspired by my travels through Spain and my experiences navigating its public transport system. While moving across the country by high-speed rail, I spent long stretches of time observing the landscape, particularly the unchanging hills of the Andalusian countryside.
I became aware of a paradox of this motion, I felt stillness, and in stillness, transformation. These drawings capture that tension between external continuity and internal change.
